DES MOINES, Iowa – Two North Iowa businesses are sharing in $6.6 million in Coronavirus Aid Fund Earn and Study grants.
Governor Reynolds announce Monday that $6,626,852 was awarded to 72 teams across the state to fund initiatives that assist the creation and growth of short-term coaching applications and assist companies leading to industry-recognized credentials.
“Iowa is a frontrunner in Registered Apprenticeship applications and by leveraging further federal assets, we’re providing new alternatives to these affected by COVID19,” says Governor Reynolds. “The Earn and Study grant program appears to be like to assist modern options and expansive pilot initiatives that assist Iowans purchase the required expertise for a profitable profession path. We’ll proceed to accomplice with the non-public, public, and non-profit sectors to assist those that have misplaced their jobs or careers due to the pandemic.”
The North Iowa grant recipients are:
Clear Lake Excessive Faculty – In partnership with Dean Snyder Development, Clear Lake Excessive Faculty will create a Registered Apprenticeship Program in Carpentry with an preliminary objective of enrolling 1 – three Registered Apprentices. Award: $50,000
La Luz Hispana, Hampton – La Luz Hispana and their companions will create a brand new Registered Apprenticeship Program for Workplace Managers would be the results of this grant. Award: $21,523.44
